Insomnia — Editorial Design
As part of a selected course in editorial design during my Communication & Design studies at KEA, I developed Insomnia — a conceptual magazine exploring the space between reality and the subconscious. The theme real vs. abstractguided the creative direction, resulting in a printed publication that moves between stories from my everyday life and narratives shaped by my dream world.
The project unfolded from early idea generation, mind mapping, and research, through layout planning and flatplan development, to content creation — both visual and written. Each element was designed to reflect the duality between the awake and unconscious state. The process demanded both structure and intuition: balancing conceptual depth with clear visual storytelling.
From the first sketches to holding the finished magazine in my hands, Insomnia was a deep dive into the editorial process. It taught me the value of strong conceptual grounding, iterative design, and the creative satisfaction of transforming an abstract idea into a tangible format.
